Amazon.com Review The book that started the phenomenon is now available in a deluxe collector's edition! Featuring a ribbon bookmark, cloth cover, ragged edges, new chapter opener designs, and a beautiful protective slipcase, this edition is perfect for fans and collectors alike.
Bella Swan's move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Bella's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Bella, the person Edward holds most dear.
Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. This is a love story with bite.

A Guilty Pleasure!!! October 23, 2007 Meighan K. Baker (Delaware) 34 out of 43 found this review helpful
This book is a guilty pleasure! The negative reviewers are, I am sad to say, correct about the downfalls of the story...Bella does love Edward at the expense of her life, her needs, her desires, and she plays the helpless victim role over and over. Edward is domineering and controlling of her, and the anti-feminist themes that this creates make me cringe. Therefore, I could see this book being harmful for anyone who does not have a very good sense of self. But if you know who you are and what you stand for, this book will do no harm to you. I read this book in 4 days and loved every minute of it! I think that in order to really enjoy this book, you need to frame it as a fantasy, because that is what it is. It is a hot, passionate fantasy made even hotter by the fact that all of Edward and Bella's physical contact has an edge of danger. This book is oozing with passion, and I love love loved it! Yes, girls, we do not need to be saved by a man, but darn it it sure is romantic! I think that the draw of this book, for me, was the way it made me feel when reading it. As strong and independent women who can support themselves in the world on our own, we have been taught to be skeptical or to even avoid the idea that we need love to complete us, that we can't live without love, that sometimes we need to be rescued. However, I think that women also need to remember that we are women, we are feminine, beatiful, and part of feminism means that we have the right to make our own choices, and if we want to fantasize about true love and being rescued, that is our perrogative. This book helped me to reconnect with that part of my feminity, and that I think is what I really loved about it. This is also probably the same reason that I liked the movie Pretty Woman, and that I sometimes secretly watch the Girls Next Door on E. I have already ordered books 2 and 3 and look forward to reading them.
It's my new favorite book. December 4, 2005 Emily Taylor 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
When I first picked up this book, I wasn't expecting much, just another book that would just sit on the shelf collecting dust. But when I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. It's one of those books that you can really feel like you're in the book. I loved the book so much, I was sad when it ended, I wanted to read more. Then ending almost killed me, I want to know what happened! But I heard there is going to be a sequal so that will be better. All I have to say, is its a really good book, and if you havn't read it, you should.
A great Read December 7, 2005 S. Johnson (Virginia) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Though this book is marketed as a Teen Read it is great for readers of all ages.
Vampire books are not always my top pick, but this is one of the best books I have ever read in a long time.
I strongly recommend this book...
WOW December 16, 2005 X. Musser (Florida, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
All I can say is: OH.MY.GOD. It was wonderful. I laughed, I cried, I read it ten times. I have never read a vamp. book as good as this one. Anne Rice writes wonderful books- but this one is just so modern that it's easier to relate to. Thats all there is to it: this book is fantastic. Just have to say- I can't wait to read it again. Favorite line: "As if you could outrun me!"
Vampiric Addiction December 16, 2005 Jamie 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I read Twilight before all of the hype, before anyone even knew that Stephenie existed. I went to a book signing not long after the book was released and there were only about twenty people there but the second time I saw her a few years later there were upwards of 400 people! When I first read this book I wrote the following review: This book was recommended to me by a friend, and her description was so intriguing that I ordered it right away and I must say that I was far from disappointed. From the time I turned the first page I was hooked and I'm afraid it may have affected my ability to study for finals because I was so wrapped up in the book, staying up to all hours of the night to read. I absolutely loved the characters, Edward in particular. He was so smooth and perfect, exactly the way I would imagine a vampire. I also thought that Bella was very easy to identify with. The ending was wonderful and left me wanting more, I can't wait until New Moon is released! I loved the romance as well, the forbidden love. This is a wonderful story and I highly recommend it, even if you are someone who tends to shy away from vampires or scary stories. However, since then I have been forced to change my opinion, all the publicity and attention Twilight has received has ruined the series for me completely! I despised the movie version mostly because of the terrible casting choices and all of the Twilight merchandise has begun to get on my nerves. Still, I thought that this book deserved a little more than my current jaded view, which is why I added my initial reaction to it.
